The natural materials made for the functional and aesthetic purposes of the teeth that are completely and mostly lost are called prostheses. The main purpose of the prosthesis is to regain lost oral health, function, and aesthetics. Our patients with tooth loss, especially those who have to live like this for a while, forget to laugh and experience a psychological loss of self-confidence. Our experience that prostheses restore self-confidence is consistent. Prostheses are divided into two; fixed and mobile. Crowns: These are the restorations made one by one in the restoration of teeth with excessive substance loss, due to caries or other reasons, discolored and irreversible and deformed teeth. Bridge: These are prostheses made by taking support from other adjacent teeth to replace missing ones. In the construction of these prostheses, abrasions are made on both or more adjacent teeth. The prosthesis made is adhered in one piece. Today, although implants are often preferred to complete the missing teeth, in some cases we have to make a bridge prosthesis. Removable Prostheses Full dentures, are palatal prostheses made in patients who have lost all their teeth. It is made using acrylic teeth and an acrylic base. In light of the latest literature, the gold standard application is overdenture prostheses made by supporting at least two implants in the lower jaw. Because the lower jaw bones are seriously reduced and the retention of the prosthesis is very low. Partial dentures, are dentures made in jaws with partial toothlessness, also known as hook dentures. Since it is essentially a tooth-supported prosthesis, its compatibility is much superior to full dentures. Covering the teeth to be supported prolongs the life of both the teeth and the prosthesis. They are not very aesthetic due to the appearance of hooks. Therefore, its use is decreasing day by day. Partial Dentures are prostheses made with precision connections that are used instead of hooks called crochet and that increase the retention of the prosthesis more. Sensitive retaining parts remain fixed in the mouth as part of the crownings made to adjacent teeth. The removable prosthesis is also called a snap prosthesis because it sits on these sensitive connections in the form of snaps. Since the connections remain inside the prosthesis, they are both aesthetic and one of the prostheses with the highest retention. The only downside is the cost is higher.
Fixed Prostheses / Veneers
All kinds of crowns and bridges cannot be removed by the patient and are made in the presence of teeth.
Fixed prostheses can be made from Metal-Based Porcelain, Zirconium-Based Porcelain, Monolithic Zirconium, and Full Ceramic systems.
In our society, the palate is a removable prosthesis with hooks and snaps. Contact us for an easy treatment process!
